Nearly 150 medical experts gather at the 2nd Vietnam Hernia Conference

HNN.VN - On July 18th and 19th, the 2nd Vietnam Hernia Conference took place at the Training and Direction Center of Hue Central Hospital, co-organized by the hospital and the Vietnam Hernia Society. This is an important scientific event, aiming to update and share clinical knowledge and experience in treating hernia-related conditions.

The conference welcomed Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Chi Tai; Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, President of Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations; and leaders from relevant departments and agencies.

More than 150 medical experts from both Vietnam and abroad participated, including surgeons, laparoscopic specialists, medical lecturers, and students. Notably, the event featured Professor Hayakawa Tetsushi, former President of Japan Hernia Society and Director of Meiho Hospital, alongside many professors, doctors, and specialists from major hospitals across the country.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman Nguyen Chi Tai emphasized the importance of international exchange and learning in improving treatment quality. The conference offered Vietnamese doctors an opportunity to access international medical standards, thereby enhancing the management and treatment of hernia disorders.

The conference included multiple in-depth sessions covering new techniques in hernia diagnosis and treatment, as well as live surgical demonstrations. Of particular interest was the pre-conference continuing education session on the afternoon of July 18th, titled “Laparoscopic Surgery for Inguinal Hernia”, which drew strong interest from young doctors. In addition, the 1st meeting of the Vietnam Hernia Society for the 2025-2030 term was successfully held as part of the event.

The 2nd Vietnam Hernia Conference is not only an event to foster professional exchange but also strengthen medical cooperation, laying a solid foundation for enhancing diagnostic and treatment capacity for hernia-related conditions in Vietnam in the coming years.
