Strengthening integrated management of hypertension, diabetes, and stroke prevention in the community
HNN.VN - On the morning of July 25, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a Continuing Medical Education (CME) course titled “Strengthening Integrated Management of Hypertension, Diabetes, and Stroke Prevention in the Community”; it also donated 2.000 electronic blood pressure monitors to health stations and people in the area.

The program was organized in coordination with the Departments of Health from various provinces and cities, gathering leading experts in cardiology, endocrinology, and family medicine, with support from OMRON Healthcare.
The event welcomed nearly 300 healthcare workers from health stations and primary care facilities.
In his speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Deputy Director of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, emphasized that empowering and enhancing the capacity of grassroots healthcare is the key to the early detection and effective management of chronic diseases. This approach contributes to building a healthier community and aligns with recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) on integrating non-communicable disease management into primary care systems.
With the goal of “Building a healthy community through a strong primary healthcare system”, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, assured its commitment to supporting localities in reforming the health station model, strengthening the capacity of primary-level care, with people at its center. Through it, the university continues to connect training with real-world medical practice, promote applied research, and contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s primary healthcare system.
