Releasing nearly 100.000 shrimp and fish fingerlings into Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon

HNN.VN - Responding to the World Environment Day (June 5) with the theme “Solution for Plastic Waste”, the International Day of Biodiversity and the Month of Action for the Environment 2023, on the morning of June 4, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with the People’s Committee of Phu Loc district, Thach Son Fisheries Association (Loc Dien, Phu Loc), etc., to release 80.000 fingerlings of tiger prawns and over 14.000 rabbitfishes into the Da Dam and Da Mieu fisheries conservation areas belonging to Tam Giang – Cau Hai Lagoon.

In addition to the regeneration of aquatic resources; on this occasion, the Provincial Environmental Protection Department also coordinated with the locality to hold mobile communication activities, hang banners and posters, collect waste, clean up the environment, as well as plan trees at Trung Chanh primary school and the residential areas, markets in Loc Dien commune, Phu Loc district.

Furthermore, this department also carried out various activities, together with localities to clean up the environment, and plant trees. At the same time, they also propagandized plastic waste prevention in markets and malls, etc., keeping on implementing the movements “Say No to disposable plastic bags”, and Green Sunday, etc.

Mr. Dang Phuc Binh, Vice Chairman of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment shared that in response to the World Environment Day (June 5) this year, the department continues to further promote the work of raising awareness and encouraging people from all walks of life to actively protect the environment; developing a green growth strategy, using natural resources in a saving and rational way, building up green lifestyle, etc., creating significant change in the awareness and commitment of all levels, sectors, and the whole society on responsible exploitation and use of resources, as well as investing to renewable energy sources, eco-friendly technology, etc.

Before becoming part of today's Vinh Loc commune, My Loi belonged to Vinh My commune - a coastal plain, with the sea on one side and a lagoon on the other.
