More than 2,100 students compete in preliminary round of Hue-ICT Challenge 2025

HNN.VN - On the morning of March 9th, 2.115 students from 533 schools across 54 provinces and cities nationwide participated in the online preliminary round of the programming competition for high school students.

Contestants in the preliminary round took their exams online via the http://coder.husc.edu.vn webpage using login credentials provided by the organizing committee (OC). During the competition, the organizing committee implemented an automatic grading system and assigned supervisors to monitor the exam rooms, utilizing a source code similarity check system to prevent plagiarism and the use of AI-assisted tools. If two or more submissions have a source code similarity of 90% or higher, the organizing committee will investigate potential plagiarism. If confirmed, the contestants involved will be deemed to have violated the competition regulations, and their scores will not be recognized.

Students who advance to the final round will directly compete at the University of Sciences, Hue University, on March 23rd, 2025. The award ceremony for the high school programming competition will take place later that afternoon and evening.

The Hue-ICT Challenge is an annual competition organized by Hue Information technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Association (HueDITA) in collaboration with the University of Sciences, Hue University. It was first held in 2022. Since 2024, the competition has received academic sponsorship from experts of the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) to elevate its scale and quality to a national level.

The Hue-ICT Challenge aims to encourage a passion for learning, self-research, and creativity among high school students, enhance teamwork skills, and align with international standards. Additionally, the competition serves as a career orientation platform, inspiring students to pursue information technology as a profession, thereby meeting the growing demand for IT talent in Hue, the Central - Central Highlands region, as well as the entire country.
