Hue Central Hospital is the fifth unit in Vietnam to be able to conduct test for Corona virus

The testing area is a closed room with 2 layers of doors, fully equipped with advanced technical equipment located in Hue Central Hospital's Department of Microbiology. The laboratory meets biosafety standards level II and has biological safety cabinets of level III. The technicians who perform the test are trained by experts from the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, with technique being transferred, and they are ready to receive specimens.

Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep - Director of Hue Central Hospital claimed that, in the complicated situation of the Corona virus epidemic worldwide as well as in Vietnam, the fact that the Ministry of Health allowed the hospital to conduct tests has brought positive impacts and was considered critically important.

Previously, in the Central region, only Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang was able to perform the test to identify Corona virus. Each time a sample needs testing, it must be transferred to the regional institute or to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases or National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. This procedure took a long time of transport, making it a very complicating process.

"The fact that Hue Central Hospital is allowed to perform Corona virus tests will help to shorten diagnostic time, with test results returned faster", Prof. Hiep emphasized and explained that in the case of identifying infected patients, it is easier to control the case tightly and isolate the area where the patients used to have contact with.

The fact that Ministry of Health allowed Hue Central Hospital to perform Corona virus tests brought positive impacts and was considered important in the complicated situation of the outbreak.

The testing procedure includes many stages and all are performed meticulously and accurately.
