Hue University welcomes more than 13,300 new students

HNN.VN - On the morning of October 15, Hue University (HU) held its opening ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong, Director of Hue University, shared that the university currently has 13 training units, including 8 member universities, a branch campus in Quang Tri province, a School of Tourism, and 3 affiliated faculties. Additionally, the university houses a system of research institutes, centers, and a publishing house, offering 153 undergraduate training majors, 108 master's training majors, and 58 doctoral training majors. Hue University serves more than 40,000 full-time students and 5,000 postgraduate students and researchers.

Hue University provides diverse programs, ranging from natural sciences, social sciences andhumanities, medicine, engineering, to economics, education, tourism, and arts. The university boasts a highly experienced faculty, with many holding advanced degrees and having undergone rigorous training both domestically and abroad. The university's learning and research environment is increasingly modern, with state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories, and comfortable classrooms. Furthermore, it maintains comprehensive partnerships with international universities and organizations, offering students the opportunity to engage in international exchange programs and scientific research

Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong emphasized: “Hue University responds to societal challenges with new knowledge. This is how we ensure that this institution will remain a cradle of knowledge, a starting point for innovation, and a place where solutions to life's challenges are sought. We hope that the education we provide will adequately prepare students for the critical tasks they will encounter in their life journeys”.

Hue University is ranked among the world’s top universities in various categories in the THE University Rankings.

Thua Thien Hue province is nearing its goal of becoming Vietnam’s sixth centrally-governed city; and Hue University is making daily efforts to become Vietnam’s third national university under Resolutions 54 and 26 of the Politburo and Resolution 83 of the Government.

 Awards for top-performing students

At the ceremony, Hue University awarded certificates of merit from the Director of Hue University to 37 students who excelled in national and international competitions during the 2023-2024 academic year. The Director also awarded certificates to 9 Vietnamese and 5 international students for outstanding academic and conduct achievements during the 2023-2024 academic year at member universities and affiliated faculties. Additionally, certificates of merit were also presented to 2 top-scorers of Hue University and 13 top-scorers from member universities, schools, faculties, and the branch campus in the 2024 undergraduate admissions.
