With the participation of two speakers including Mr. Hoang Trong Thuy, founder of the project “Making friends with books” and Ms. Nguyen Minh Thanh Nhan, Vice Principal of Ly Thuong Kiet primary school (Hue City), the workshop attracted over 50 parents, teachers, and young people joining in.

In the framework of the workshop, the two speakers, rich in experiences related to enhancing students’ reading habits, highlighted the importance of reading in today’s world. By cultivating reading habits for children from a young age, it would provide them many new opportunities to develop and adapt to an ever-changing world and future.

Mrs. Nguyen Minh Thanh Nhan shared valuable experiences and lessons drawn from her children during the process of reading books and creating reading habits for them. Furthermore, she also shared the tips for selecting books for children, building reading routines, as well as the tips to reach effective reading methods, and create interactive and attractive reading experiences, etc.

Participating in the program, Ms. Linh Phuong shared: “Reading books with children and helping them to make friends with books is the concern of many parents and teachers. Listening to the shares of Mr. Hoang Trong Thuy and Ms. Nguyen Minh Thanh Nhan, I understand more about the importance of reading for children. Previously, I joined the project “Making friends with books” in the academic year of 2017 – 2018 at my school, and I witnessed real improvement in my students. Much love of books was grown; and they enthusiastically shared about their favorite ones. Thence, their communication abilities and writing skills truly improved”.

The workshop was organized for free and provided practical meaning, resulting in a large number of registrations. The organizing committee will hold a second session on September 28.

Mr. Van Dinh Huy, who was born in 1983, is currently working at Phu Bai Ward Police office. Even younger than Dinh Huy, Mr. Do Minh Dien, who was born in 1990, is currently an officer in the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City. What they have in common is a strong passion for books, and up to now, each of them has built his own personal book collection. They are truly the “young gentlemen” who collect books in Hue.
