Over 330 athletes compete in the Expanded Traditional Martial Arts Championship for Children and Youth in Hue City

HNN.VN - On the morning of March 7, Hue City Youth Center officially held the opening ceremony of the 2nd Expanded Traditional Martial Arts Championship for Children and Youth in Hue City - 2026.

The championship takes place over three days (from March 6 to March 8) and attracts 25 clubs. Among them, Hue City has 19 clubs, Quang Tri Province has 2 clubs, and Da Nang City has 4 clubs participating.

This year’s championship brings together 335 athletes, including 240 male athletes and 95 female athletes, along with 50 masters and coaches.

According to the organizing committee, the tournament features 171 sparring matches with the participation of 222 athletes, as well as 122 martial arts demonstrations featuring 153 athletes.

The championship is organized to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), and the 51st anniversary of Hue’s Liberation Day (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2026). It also responds to Youth Month, and the 22nd Hue City Children and Youth Cultural and Sports Week - 2026.

Through the championship, the organizing committee hopes to contribute to promoting the movement of training and competition of sports in general, and the traditional martial arts in particular. At the same time, it aims to create a healthy and beneficial playground for children and young people to exchange experiences, learn from one another, improve physical fitness, and cultivate determination, courage, martial spirit, and moral qualities…
