Equipping safety skills in water environment for teachers

HNN.VN - On March 12, the Department of Education and Training collaborated with Hue Help held a training session on equipping safety skills in water environment for officers and teachers at Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted.

 Practicing skills of drowning rescue on land

To enhance the communication and education efforts to raise awareness, knowledge, and skills for preventing and avoiding accidents, injuries, and drowning for students, the Department of Education and Training collaborated Hue Help to provide training and enhance knowledge and safety skills in water environment for nearly 60 officers and teachers responsible for the work of school safety and drowning prevention in educational institutions.

In framework of the training session, officers and teachers were provided knowledge related to the reasons caused drowning in children, as well as basic principles on safety in water environment. Furthermore, they were also trained how to ensure safety when participating in water traffic; ensuring safety and preventing drowning for children at home and in the community.

Hue Help also guided teachers the ways to ensure safety and prevent, avoid drowning for children in rainy and stormy seasons. Additionally, they also guided how to prevent and handle cramps; how to escape from encountering whirlpool in swimming; and how to escape when being swept away from the shore.

On this occasion, teachers also got the chance to practice the skills of drowning rescue on land; practicing first aid for drowning victims and trying drowning rescue at the swimming pool.

On the morning of September 14, at the Youth Center (57 Lam Hoang Street, Hue City), the city's Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, organized a contest on “First aid skills, and communication on voluntary blood donation, tissue donation, organ donation and climate change”. This event was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of World First Aid Day (September 13, 2000 - September 13, 2025).
