The water system at the free water stations at the above tourist attractions meets the ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard, and is certified to comply with the TCVN 11978:2017 standards, ensuring the safety and hygiene with a set of 5 filter cores ensuring safety and hygiene quality, including a 300G RO membrane which is capable of removing over 99% of amoeba, arsenic, heavy metals, viruses, bacteria and other impurities, providing water that ensures the purity.

The implementation of these free water stations aims to cultivate the habit of locals and visitors in reducing the use of disposable plastic bottles, by encouraging the use of personal water bottles to refill water, contributing to saving resources, developing sustainable tourism, and reducing plastic pollution in Hue City.

Currently, Hue City is implementing many solutions to reduce plastic waste in tourism activities within the area. This aims to enhance the responsibility of each citizen and visitor in environmental protection, striving towards a plastic-reducing city in the future. The inauguration of the water stations also serves to promote the implementation of the Plastic Reduction Code of Conduct, which has been introduced to the locals and visitors by the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam”, Hue City People's Committee, and Hue Monuments Conservation Center.
