An overview of the working
Since 2019, the universities belonging to Hue University (Hue University of Sciences, University of Education, and University of Economics) have been training 7 specialities in the field of Information Technology, 5 majors of Information Technology in training Master, and training Doctor specialized in computer science. In the plan for the period of 2020 – 2025, it is expected that the universities will enroll over 10,000 students for 10 main IT majors; furthermore, they will coordinate to carry out the short-term training program for 5 majors with the partners signing cooperation with Hue University.
About the training human resources, Hue University has a team of high-qualified lecturers, standard facilities, and it continues to be invested in many programs and projects on IT infrastructure development. Hue University is also well cooperating with over 50 countries and territories (over 100 world’s prestigious universities in Information Technology), as well as well coordinating with over 50 enterprises at home and abroad on IT training.
Additionally, Hue University also offers many scholarships to attract students to the majors in the field of Information Technology, etc.
At the working session, Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, Director of Hue University agreed with the policy of the province, assigning Hue University and the member universities to carry out the cooperation with the enterprises in the work of training and recruiting workers, as well as coordinating to attract students into the field of IT in the province.
Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh said that in the coming time, Hue University will build up the relationship and sign cooperation in IT human resources training with the enterprises; in return, the enterprises have to learn to expand their field of operation, as well as search for the new markets to attract the human resources trained from the institutions of Hue University.
Speaking to conclude the working session, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho highly appreciated the opinions and suggestions of the universities, institutions, and enterprises in the provincial area; especially the ideas for solving the problem of the supply and demand of IT human resources training according to the market demand, as well as of the mechanisms, policies in training and attracting the major IT enterprises to give their investment in the province.
Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho claimed that being a pioneer in the field of human resources training, Hue University is not only a place of cooperating and training high quality IT human resources but also a link to attract IT enterprises to invest in the province. Therefore, Hue University has to adjust the curriculums, admission methods as well as to orient and introduce the subject majors; to invest in the IT training material facilities to attract students, as well as build up the trust of local people and society to the IT development strategy of the province.
