Developing sustainable, safe and high-tech agriculture in Hue

Many foreign visitors to Hue are captivated not only by its scenic beauty and heritage but also by the charm of its traditional ao-dai.

Amid the bustling streets, watch repairers, raincoat patchers and other craftsmen still toil away at their work. Some people come to them to save money; others simply hope to hold on to an item tied to cherished memories. Among the shops selling brand-new goods, the craft of repair still meets the practical needs of a segment of Hue’s residents.

Phan Vu Tuan, a painter, was born in 1994 in Son Tien Commune, Ha Tinh Province. He grew up in a midland village, surrounded by mountain ranges and immersed in the rhythms of life in a farming family. After studying at the University of Fine Arts in Hue, he decided to remain in the city beside the Huong River, where he has made his home and continued to paint. Over time, Tuan has become deeply attached to Hue, which has come to feel like a second homeland. His native Son Tien village and Hue City have become the two central subjects of his watercolour paintings.

On the morning of October 29, the Institute for South Asian, West Asian, and African Studies (ISAWAAS), under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), in coordination with the City Tourism Association and relevant agencies, held an international workshop entitled ‘Developing Halal tourism: International experience and the current state in Hue City’.

On the afternoon of October 28, Mr. Trinh Manh Linh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, chaired a reception and working session with a delegation of young leaders from the Cambodian People’s Party during their visit and working trip to Hue City.
