More than half a century since the homeland’s liberation (March 26, 1975 – March 26, 2026), Hue’s urban landscape has undergone significant transformation, marked by newly widened roads, bridges spanning rivers and lagoons, modern urban zones, and an increasingly synchronized technical infrastructure system.

On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the liberation of Hue (March 26th, 2026), along with Hue Railway Station being officially recognized as a “Tourist Destination” and the “Connecting Heritage Journey” train launching a new look connecting layers of memory and culture, the Hoa Xa coffee shop and claypot rice restaurant was officially introduced to take part and accompany this development.

On April 29th, at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, the Department of Education and Training organized the primary-level STEM Festival for the 2025-2026 school year, attracting a large number of students and teachers. ​

At noon on April 29, beach wrestling at the 6th Asian Beach Games (ABG6) - 2026 officially concluded. Two female wrestlers from Hue wrestling team made notable contributions to the overall success of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at this year’s Games.

On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), on April 29, under authorization, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Manh visited and presented gifts from General Secretary and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam to meritorious beneficiaries currently being cared for at Hue City Center for Nursing and Care for People with Meritorious Service.

On the morning of April 28th, Hue Central Hospital held a ceremony to introduce the 3.0 Tesla MRI system - SIGNA Pioneer. In the atmosphere of commemorating the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), and the 140th anniversary of International Workers' Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), on the morning of April 27, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, and Head of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in Hue City.

On the morning of April 27th, the Department of Tourism reported that the total number of visitors to Hue during this year’s Hung Kings’ Commemoration holiday was estimated at around 310.500. This marks a sharp increase compared to the same holiday in 2025, when Hue welcomed 109.000 visitors.

On the afternoon of April 26th, Vietnam Haiku Poetry Club - Hue Ancient Capital branch held a gathering and poetry - music exchange to commemorate the 51st anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30th, 1975 - April 30th, 2026). The event also included the induction of new members, contributing to the spread of verses associated with April memories and love for the homeland.

The book series “Phan Thuan An and Hue” (Tri Thuc Publishing House), including three volumes - History of Hue, Culture of Hue, and Folktales of Hue - was introduced on April 26 through a collaboration between the author’s family and relevant organizations.
