Young people felt excited to experience traditional Vietnamese and Korean Tet Festival
TTH.VN - On the morning of January 12th, Hue City Youth and Children Activity Center hosted the Vietnamese and Korean Traditional Tet Experience event under the theme “Spring of Connection - Peaceful Tet.”

The program featured 15 booths and experiential spaces hosted by various groups, including KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) volunteer experts, Hue Industrial College, Moc Truly Hue’s Co., Ltd., Old Lady Tuyet Incense Shop, and numerous clubs and teams in the city.

Participants, including children, tourists, and locals, had the opportunity to make traditional Tet dishes guided by artisans from Hue’s traditional craft villages and KOICA volunteers. Dishes included chung cakes, tet cakes, mung bean cakes, coconut jam, and Korean rice balls.
Other cultural experiences included crafting incense, molding to he (colorful figurines), making Thanh Tien paper flowers, Sinh Village paintings, decorating lucky money envelopes, writing wish notes, crafting Joseon-style identification tags and making Korean style knotted bracelets. Additionally, a check-in area was set up for visitors to try on traditional Vietnamese Ao dai and Korean hanbok. The event also featured cultural exchanges and folk games from both Vietnam and Korea, creating a festive and lively spring atmosphere.

To support those in need on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the organizers distributed 100 Tet gift packages to disadvantaged children at schools and social welfare centers across the city.
A representative of Hue City Youth and Children Activity Center shared that the program aimed to provide a fun and meaningful playground for young people on the occasion of Tet coming. It also sought to help them learn about the national identity and the beauty of traditional Vietnamese and Korean New Year culture.
