Opening of Buddhist cultural exhibition

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of May 15th, at Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center, the Executive Board of provincial Buddhist Sangha and the Organizing Board of the Vesak Day Celebration of Buddhist Calendar 2568 held the opening ceremony of the Buddhist cultural exhibition themed “Fragrance of the Lotus”. This significant event is part of the series of activities for the Vesak Week of Buddhist Calendar 2568 in 2024.

 Most Venerable Thich Khe Chon, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council,Head of the Executive Board of Thua Thien Hue provincial Buddhist Sangha, and Head of the Vesak Day Organizing Board, presenting flowers to the participating artists and sculptors.

The “Fragrance of the Lotus” exhibition features 90 works by 18 renowned painters and sculptors from Hue and across the country. The displayed pieces are meticulously crafted, rich in content, and diverse in form, made from traditional materials such as lacquer, ceramics, bronze, and more.

Lotus, a symbol of Buddhism, is especially unique and beautiful in Hue. With their artistic expertise, the artists have poured their hearts into each stroke, creating unique and exquisite lotus works. The paintings vividly depict the lotus in various forms, such as Vũ điệu sen (Lotus Dance), Vùng tráng lệ (Majestic Region), Giao hưởng trắng (White Symphony), Sen pháp lam (Phap Lam Lotus), Dấu tịnh (Tranquil Mark), Vọng xưa (Ancient Echo), Miền Hạnh phúc (Land of Happiness), and illustrations of famous temples in Hue, all offered to celebrate Vesak Day.

The “Fragrance of the Lotus” exhibition space is a highlight, marking the beginning of Vesak Week 2568 in Thua Thien Hue.

A lot of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers attended the exhibition to enjoy the high artistic value lotus and pagoda-themed works created by skilled and aesthetically gifted hands.
