“When will it be October...” is how author Huy Khanh uses the title of an old film to express the expectation for the milestone when health sector completes the plan to implement electronic health records on a national scale, and the incredibly favorable outcomes that this policy brings.

“Now October has arrived. My heart is full of hope and I share the happiness of so many patients. Although nationally, due to various objective and subjective reasons, the number of health facilities implementing the electronic health records only reached 50% by the September 30 deadline. The encouraging news is that our beloved Hue is not among the 50% of provinces and cities that “fell behind”. With electronic health records, patients not only lessen the burden of admission and discharge procedures, but, more importantly, they can hope that their medical condition will be managed, monitored, and treated more effectively…,” shared the author.

In the Forum section, Kim Oanh raised concerns about the story “Human resources for the heritage city”. The author begun: “Recently, while looking into enrollment information from Hue Intermediate School of Culture and Arts, I learned that over the past 20 years, this unit has not been able to recruit a single “Tuong” course, even though it is the only facility in Hue and the Central region with the function of training certain specialized Hue art forms, including Tuong”; then, reflecting on the pride of Hue's heritage culture with the rich history of Tuong, the author expressed a deep worry: “Given its glorious history, the tireless efforts of those in preservation work, and the desire to revitalize the art of royal Tuong are always burning in the hearts of generations of Tuong artists in Hue. The story that Hue Intermediate School of Culture and Arts not been being able to recruit a Tuong course in the past 20 years is a genuine concern. How can the preservation and promotion of this valuable cultural heritage continue when there is a lack of a next generation to carry it on?... Accompanying this concern is the question: What needs to be done to stimulate demand for Tuong, from training work and support mechanisms to career prospects, ... ?

“The ‘young gentlemen’ collecting books” is another inspirational piece of Hue Today Weekly, Issue No. 41, written by Phi Tan.

Telling fascinating stories about the book-collecting hobby of two “young gentlemen” from the 8x-9x generations (Van Dinh Huy, and Do Minh Dien), the author spreads the message from Minh Dien: A book collector who only values books is not enough; one must love and cherish them. Every time I hold an old book in my hand, I think about the space and time that book has experienced over decades, sometimes nearly a century, through wartime bombs, rain, sun, floods, and the previous owners who preserved the book so that it remains nearly intact to this day…

In addition to the above content, this issue of Hue Today Weekly also includes other exciting articles such as: Building an ecosystem to support technology start-ups (Hoang Loan); Hue culinary & tourism passport (Huu Phuc); Digital cultural ambassadors (Phuoc Ly); Happiness is not found in castles (Phuoc Chau); Connecting Vietnamese - Japanese culture (Bach Chau); Cultural industry & potential of Hue (Nhat Minh); The ‘young gentlemen’ collecting books (Phi Tan); Hue sports on the threshold of history (Han Dang); and What opportunities for peace in the Gaza Strip?
