Hue Museum of Fine Arts receives works by the late sculptor Le Thanh Nhon
TTH.VN - On the afternoon of March 22, at Le Ba Dang Art Center, which is a part of Hue Museum of Fine Arts (15 Le Loi Street, Thuan Hoa District), a representative of the family of the late sculptor and painter Le Thanh Nhon donated the painter’s works to the Hue Museum of Fine Arts.

On behalf of the family, Mr. Le Trung Hung, son of the late sculptor and painter Le Thanh Nhon, donated three of his father's works to the Hue Museum of Fine Arts. These include the works “Untitled” (oil paint, 61x51cm), “Ceramic vase” (ceramic, 50x35x35cm), and “Buddha Shakyamuni statue” (plaster, 61x51cm).
The late sculptor and painter Le Thanh Nhon was born in 1940 in Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong. After 1975, he immigrated to Australia, and passed away in 2002.
He graduated as valedictorian of the sculpture department at the Saigon - Gia Dinh College of Fine Arts in 1963, and became a lecturer at the college. During the years of 1970 to 1975, he taught and created works in many places in the Central region, including Hue College of Fine Arts (now the University of Fine Arts, Hue University). During his lifetime, the late sculptor and painter Le Thanh Nhon considered Hue his second hometown, after his birthplace of Binh Duong.

The representative of the leadership of Hue Museum of Fine Arts, upon receiving the works of the late sculptor and painter Le Thanh Nhon, said that “it is a great honor and joy”. These works are of great significance to the museum in preserving, conserving, displaying, and introducing the life and career of the late sculptor and painter Le Thanh Nhon to domestic and international audiences.
On this occasion, the Hue Museum of Fine Arts also presented a certificate and flowers of appreciation to Mr. Le Trung Hung and his family.
