The exhibition presents a unique artistic dialogue between two painters from different generations and creative paths, brought together by a shared passion for art and a desire to engage with time. It features works by artist My Dung from Danang and artist Vu Hoa from Hanoi.0With 30 works on display, artist My Dung presents a quiet yet powerful dialogue between two worlds. On canvas, he has devoted thousands of hours to “revive” the faces, sounds, and customs of Vietnam from the 19th to the early 20th century. Viewers can encounter the solemn presence of an Emperor, the stillness of a scholar, and the measured rhythms of a traditional ensemble… These brushstrokes go beyond mere form to capture the “spirit” - an expressive, human essence that no machine can replicate.
Meanwhile, over 20 paintings by artist Vu Hoa also draws strong interest from visitors. Created using lacquer, the works reflect a cross-cultural creative journey enriched by diverse explorations in materials and styles, spanning from realism to abstraction, with lacquer distinctly reinterpreted through a contemporary perspective.
The parallel presence of the two artists creates a defining highlight of the exhibition: one presents an introspective world shaped by global experiences, while the other offers a profound sense of history and national identity.
The exhibition opens for audiences until May 10.
Later the same day, Hue Museum of Fine Arts held a closing ceremony for the program “Sketching French Architectural Heritage and Cultural-Historical Relics in Hue”.
After over 40 days, with the participation of 40 artists, painters, and architects, the sketching program concluded with over 120 works, including iconic French architectural landmarks such as Hue Railway Station, Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, Hue University headquarters, and Van Nien Water Plant. In addition, Hue’s historical and cultural sites were also captured through the artists’ distinct perspectives.

All sketches produced during the program have been received by Hue Museum of Fine Arts and will be promoted in the coming period, contributing to bringing them closer to the public, domestic visitors, and international audiences.
