Focusing on developing souvenirs and gifts with Hue’s identity

Through the contests of designing gifts and souvenirs, a great number of handicraft products with beautiful models and high quality will be supplied to the market.

At the conference, the leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade popularized the plan of developing souvenirs and gifts in 2019, in which giving priority to developing special products with Hue’s identity, developing souvenir and gift collections to contribute to restoring and developing the handicrafts and traditional crafts of Hue.

Since May 2019, the units and individuals will register to participate in designing new models for handicraft products, designing and renovating the packaging for Hue handicraft products and specialties; as well as support the investment to develop the production and trading of Hue souvenirs and gifts products.

With the total expense of 500 million VND, the units and individuals will design handicraft products as the souvenirs and gifts by simulating and stylizing Vietnamese treasures in Nguyen Dynasty, as well as the architectural works, beautiful landscapes, and special cultural produces, etc.

Furthermore, the department will support the work of designing and renovating models, packaging of souvenirs, gifts, and specialty products of Hue, at the same time, displaying and promoting these products. The contest starts from May 2019, and, in November 2019, all designs will be handed over to manufacturers.
