With a history spanning over 700 years of construction and development, Thua Thien Hue has always held a leading position in inspiring and preserving the nation's artistic identity. In particular, Hue court arts and traditional music have contributed delicate and diverse tones to Vietnamese music. This traditional music is also deeply rooted in folk origins, playing a significant role in promoting the local image and culture to the public. Promoting the value of Hue traditional music not only raises community awareness of the importance of heritage, but also opens up new directions for the socio-economic development.

There were 23 presentations at the conference, which were divided into three groups, namely: The tumultuous history of Hue Ancient Capital; The artistic value of the music of the capital; and the connection between the Nguyen dynasty’s music and modern music. At the conference, delegates listened to presentations of typical papers, such as “Hue traditional music - A history of changes from the past to the present and illustrative art performances” by Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung; “Promoting the artistic value of Hue-Singing in the development of tourism culture” by Dr. Phan Thanh Hai; and “Hue traditional music in the process of Hue tourism development” by Nguyen Van Phuc (M.A.).
