Update on respiratory and allergic disease in children

Prof. Jacques de Blic, Necker-Enfants of Malades Hospital and Prof. Antoine Deschildre, of Jeanne de Flandres Hospital, Lille, France shared their updated knowledge on respiratory and allergic symptoms related to severe and mild types of asthma in children; on diagnosing and treatment of respiratory diseases in children; allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, food allergies as well as how to manage a clinical case such as anaphylactic shock – acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in children with the participants of this CME.

Diagnosing and treating of asthma in children

Nowadays, along with the development of society, the epidemiology also changes. The incidence of infections reduces meanwhile that of congenital defects and allergies, immunology disorders tend to increase, especially in children. Respiratory tract diseases, rhinitis, drug allergies, food allergies, asthma are diseases causing dangerous complications that lead to negative influence on the children’s health, at the same time, making them the burden of their family and society.
