Strengthening Cooperation Between Hue City Police and Siem Reap Provincial Police

HNN.VN - In line with the policy of expanding foreign relations and international cooperation in the People’s Public Security Force, as well as the 2026 cooperation plan between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior, from June 16 to 20, 2026, a delegation from Hue City Police, led by Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Director of Hue City Police, had a official visit to Siem Reap Provincial Police in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Lieutenant General Seng Ravuth, Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations, and Lieutenant General Huot Sothy, Commissioner of Siem Reap Provincial Police, expressed their pleasure at welcoming the delegation from Hue City Police for the visit and working session. They also described the visit as a promising beginning for future cooperation between the police forces of the two localities.

During the meeting, representatives of Hue City Police and Siem Reap Provincial Police exchanged updates on the security and public order situation in their localities. Both sides acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements attained in recent years, while sharing effective practices and experiences in crime prevention, with a particular focus on combating cyber fraud and human trafficking.

Both sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the 2026 cooperation plan between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior; enhance the exchange of information and professional experience; and strengthen coordination in crime prevention, thereby contributing to the maintenance of security and public order and supporting the development of each locality. The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further fostering and deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

As part of the working trip, the delegation visited and carried out a field trip to several units under Siem Reap Provincial Police to gain firsthand knowledge of their organizational structure and operational practices. According to the working schedule, in the coming day, the delegation will visit and hold a working session with the Representative Office of Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security in Cambodia.

As part of the working trip, the delegation visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to students from Vietnamese families living in Tonle Sap of Cambodia who are studying at a school built by Military Region 7 under Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence. During the visit, members of the delegation warmly inquired about the students’ learning and living conditions. Furthermore, they also expressed their care and support while encouraging them to continue striving in their studies, overcome challenges, and make meaningful contributions to society in the future.
