In Salavan Province, on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year and the 65th anniversary of the Lao Public Security Force (April 5th, 1961 - April 5th, 2026), Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan conveyed New Year wishes to the Board of Directors and all officers and soldiers of the provincial Public Security and their families. Both sides acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of their cooperation in recent years, particularly the effective implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the two local police forces. As a result, information exchange has been maintained regularly, and many emerging cases have been promptly coordinated and resolved, contributing to maintaining security and order in border areas.

At the working session, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan noted that in 2025, the security and public order situation in Hue continued to remain stable; complex security issues were detected and handled early and from afar; crimes related to social order decreased significantly; and state management of security and order achieved many positive results. These outcomes were partly attributed to the close coordination with police forces of Lao localities, including the Public Security of Salavan Province.

The Police Department of Hue City and the Police Department of Salavan Province agreed to continue effectively implementing cooperation policies and orientations between the two Parties, the two States, and the two Ministries of Police Department. This includes improving the quality of implemented agreements, strengthening information exchange, and enhancing coordination in crime prevention and control, thereby ensuring security and order and serving socio-economic development in each locality.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation also paid a courtesy call to Mr. Dao Vong Phon Keo, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Salavan Provincial Party Committee. Earlier, the delegation visited and worked with the Public Security of Savannakhet Province and paid courtesy visits to provincial leaders. According to the plan, the delegation will continue to visit and extend New Year greetings to the Public Security forces of Sekong Province and Champasak Province, as well as pay courtesy visits to the leadership of these localities.
