On behalf of the government and the people of Hue City, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong extended his best wishes to international guests. After providing information on the situation of socio-economic development of the city in recent years, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized the significant contributions of international organizations, volunteers, experts, and foreign investors in fostering international solidarity and friendship, as well as the development of the city. He highlighted that diplomatic efforts have played an essential role in enhancing Hue’s position and image on the global stage.
“Over the years, Hue City has expanded its cooperative relations with many countries worldwide, effectively mobilizing external resources for economic and social development and international integration. The city has also successfully organized numerous important political, cultural, and diplomatic events. It has also strengthened collaborations with localities in other countries, promoted investment opportunities, and fostered cooperation across various sectors, including healthcare, education, culture, tourism, mine clearance, climate change response, and startups, etc.,” said Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong.

Chairman of the City People’s Committee affirmed that we welcome 2025 with a historic milestone, as Thua Thien Hue officially becomes a centrally-governed municipality. This achievement reflects the central government’s valuable support and the tireless efforts, determination, and unity of the Party, government, and people across different periods. While this new status is a tremendous honor, it also brings great responsibility, requiring the city to leverage its intellect, unity, and creativity to build a modern, civilized city befitting its role as a distinctive cultural and tourism center of national and regional significance.
2025 will be a year of continued success, overcoming challenges to achieve the highest results in the 2021-2025 five-year plan. The Chairman believes Hue will grow rapidly and sustainably based on the foundation of preserving and promoting its heritage and cultural identity, as the nation enters a new era of development and progress.
