Over the years, Hue Central Hospital has had a great number of relationships with many foreign organizations and individuals to exchange, cooperate, as well as provide professional support and valuable medical equipment to many different specialties, including the help for hospital’s doctors and nurses, etc., to participate in visiting, studying, and training at major universities in Japan, the US, Australia, and France, etc. This has brought outstanding achievements in high-tech development, contributing to improving the efficiency of medical examination and treatment for the people.

It's known that Prof. Hiroyuki Shichino, Former of Pediatrics Department, National Center for Global health and Medicine, Japan is the one who has worked with Hue Central Hospital for over 10 years. He has made much support in training human resource such as training for Vietnamese doctors in pediatric oncology, pediatricians, pediatric surgery, diagnostic imaging, pediatric radiotherapy, pediatric emergency, and neonates in Japan.

Every week, Prof. Hiroyuki Shichino also holds the “tumor board” consultation with pediatricians of Oncology – Hematology – Marrow Transplantation Division at Hue Central Hospital to together discuss the difficult cases to find out the best solutions for the patients. In addition to the field of training, Prof. Shichino also cooperates with Hue Central Hospital to organize annual pediatric oncology conference. At the same time, he appoints leading Japanese professors to attend the conference to share their experiences and support the hospital in publishing pediatric treatment protocols.

7-year-old patient successfully receives bone marrow transplant, no longer dependent on blood transfusions

On the morning of March 25, Hue Central Hospital announced that it had held a discharge ceremony for a pediatric patient with thalassemia (a hereditary blood disorder) following a successful bone marrow transplant using marrow donated by the patient’s older sister. This is the 15th thalassemia bone marrow transplant performed at the hospital, marking an important step forward in the treatment of genetic hematologic diseases.
