Developing for technical progress in hepato biliary pancreatic treatment

HNN.VN - On the morning of December 20, at Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (VASLD), and Vietnamese Society of Hepato Biliary Pancreatic Surgery (VSHBPS), in collaboration with Hue Central Hospital, held the opening ceremony of the 18th National Conference of VASLD & VSHBPS with the theme “Promotion of developing for technical progress”, and simultaneously launched the Minimally Invasive Treatment for HBP Chapter of VASLD.

Taking place over two days (December 19 - 20), the conference featured 10 scientific sessions with 75 in-depth reports. These included notable presentations from international professors and doctors, and leading experts in the country. The content focused on key areas such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer, HBP surgery, and liver transplantation, etc., especially the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and ICG fluorescence in modern treatment.

According to expert evaluations, more than 60% of the reports at the conference focused on minimally invasive treatment techniques. This highlights a strong development trend of modern intervention methods such as interventional radiology, laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and small-incision techniques. These advancements offer clear benefits to patients, including reduced pain, fewer complications, shorter hospital stays, cost savings, and improved post-treatment quality of life.

The 18th National  Conference of VASLD & VSHBPS is considered a prestigious scientific forum, contributing to promoting the application of technical advances in HBP treatment, thereby enhancing the quality of public healthcare and contributing positively to the development of Vietnamese medicine.
