Receiving and working with the delegation was Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, together with representatives of the city’s departments and agencies. The meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the special solidarity and friendship between the two Parties, the two States, and the people of the two localities.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bounlai Bouththi expressed his pleasure at leading the Sekong delegation to visit and extend New Year greetings to Hue City, while conveying his best New Year wishes to the Party Committee, authorities, and Hue people. He emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam in general, and between Sekong and Hue in particular, are invaluable assets that must continue to be preserved and promoted.
He highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the two localities in recent years, especially within the framework of the 2022–2026 cooperation program. The active support provided by Hue City in the fields of education and training, healthcare, cadre training, and human resource development has made an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Sekong Province. At the same time, he confirmed that Sekong Province always values and wishes to further expand and deepen its traditional cooperative relationship with Hue City.
The two sides exchanged views, reviewed the implementation results of the 2022 - 2026 cooperation program, and agreed to continue reviewing and supplementing cooperation contents in line with the new situation. Key areas of cooperation in the coming period include education and training, healthcare, human resource development, culture and tourism, investment promotion, and enhanced coordination among agencies and units.

In his response, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, joyously welcomed the delegation from Sekong Province and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of all ethnic groups in Sekong. He confirmed that Hue always values and prioritizes strengthening cooperation with Sekong Province, noting that the city has received and trained many Lao students and dispatched medical and education expert delegations to support the partner locality.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to enhance coordination in the coming period. In particular, Hue City will facilitate Lao enterprises, especially those from Sekong Province, in boosting exports through Chan May Port, while studying and supporting the expansion of the route from the center of Sekong Province to Ta Vang Border Gate to facilitate trade. At the same time, attention will continue to be given to creating favorable conditions for people from Hue living and working in Sekong Province to stabilize their lives, thereby further strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two localities.
Both sides confirmed that in the new term, the traditional cooperative relationship between Sekong Province and Hue City will continue to be elevated to a new level, becoming increasingly substantive, effective, and sustainable, serving the practical interests of the people of both localities.
