Strengthening cooperation between Hue City Police and four neighboring provinces of Laos

The visit took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day of All People Protecting National Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).

The visit, which took place from August 10 to August 13, saw the heads of the delegations from the police forces of Laos’ provinces extend their warm congratulations to the leaders and all officers and soldiers of Hue City Police. They also highly praised the achievements and results Hue City Police have attained over 80 years of building, fighting, and maturing. This occasion was considered an opportunity for Hue City Police and the Police of 4 Lao provinces to further promote comprehensive cooperation in the future.

At the courtesy meeting, Major General Si So Son Da La, Director of Salavan Provincial Police, and Major General Kham Ban Phom Ma Ni Vong, Director of Sekong Provincial Police, together with the Director of Hue City Police expressed their gratitude for the two units’ attendance at the anniversary celebration. The leaders of 3 local police forces agreed to continue strengthening and deepening their cooperative relationship, traditional friendship, and special solidarity, fostering even closer bonds among the three forces.

On this occasion, Hue City Police, Savannakhet Provincial Police, and Champasak Provincial Police jointly held a meeting to exchange information and assess the results of 2 years of implementing the cooperation agreement on ensuring security and order.

The leaders of the three local police forces acknowledged and highly assessed the results achieved in their cooperation over the past 2 years, particularly in regularly and effectively monitoring the situation, exchanging, and handling information related to security and order. These efforts have made a positive contribution to the cause of building and protecting the nation, as well as to strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, making these relationships increasingly close-knit and profound.

The leaders of three local police forces agreed on the directions and key tasks outlined at the meeting, particularly enhancing cooperation in combating transnational crimes, drug-related crimes, human trafficking, high-tech crimes, and the pursuit of wanted criminals. They also agreed to strengthen delegation exchanges combined with sharing and exchanging experiences in various areas of police work in the new context. Hue City Police proposed and received the agreement from Lao counterparts to facilitate conditions for Vietnamese citizens in general, and those from Hue City in particular, in completing residence procedures, guiding them to comply with Lao laws, ensuring legal residence, and preventing legal violations.
