The “Hói Dừa, Hói Mít” area of Lang Co (Phu Loc District, 70km north of Hue City) was previously almost isolated from the outside world because there were no roads, no electricity grid. All the infrastructure and conditions for social life were very inadequate.
But after the road along Lap An Lagoon was built, the attention was given to the infrastructure investment, the face of life here has thrived and changed day by day.
Notably, thanks to the road opened along Lap An Lagoon, many eco-tourism sites in the area have been discovered and exploited, contributing to generating jobs and improving the lives of many households in the area. If departing from Hue, following National Highway 1A to Phu Loc, crossing 2 passes of Phuoc Tuong, Phu Gia, looking to the right, you will see a wide lagoon surrounded with a picturesque, softly - winding road. That is the lagoon and the road along Lap An.
You can choose to take a turn right from the foot of Phu Gia Pass, or continue to go straight to Lang Co Town and then turn in, leisurely follow this road for a few more kilometers, to the area of Hói Dừa Hamlet, you will see a signpost. You also simply ask the locals; anyone can show you the right way.
Pellucid water for visitors to enjoy swimming and bathing
The road to Đổ Waterfall is very easy to go; low-chassis, 4-seater cars can also come to the place. The waterfall originates from the top of Bach Ma Mountain, now rumbling, now babbling through the green, primeval forest canopies of the National Forest, to Hói Dừa. The water that flowed by over many years created 3 successive pellucid lakes.
Each lake is about a hundred square meters wide, enough for visitors to enjoy bathing and swimming. At the bottom of the lake, which is not too deep, are countless small stream fish swimming, seeking moss to eat, or hiding in the rock holes, which makes the children love to dive and catch them tirelessly.
From the lakes, visitors can move upstream; only with a short distance can they check in, bathe with the white water currents. Anyone who wants more can seek a certain rock hole and sit with the back against water current for a comfortable massage… for free. Of course, be careful of the locations with a lot of moss to avoid dangerous slip.
Foods, drinks, and shacks at reasonable prices are served by the simple and honest locals. The dishes are all fresh and delicious, but in general, with such fresh and picturesque scenery, every dish tastes good.
In the first years, dishes were ordered after shacks had been sought. Later, more and more tourists come; the service gradually gets professional with a Facebook site, a phone number for customers to book in advance.
Sunny days have been said to be blazing. Get on a car straight towards Đổ Waterfall. Beyond doubt, you will feel satisfaction.
