At the meeting, leaders of Thanh Thuy Ward reported on the progress of tourism and service projects, focusing on the Thanh Toan Bridge area with activities such as the “Countryside Market Festival”, night markets, and cultural–agricultural experience products. The ward currently has eight recognized heritage sites (four national-level and four city-level), forming an important foundation for developing tourism linked to cultural preservation.
In recent years, community-based tourism in the locality has achieved initial positive results. The “Countryside Market Festival” has been maintained regularly and is gradually becoming a distinctive product that attracts visitors. A tourism space rich in rural cultural identity has taken shape. The organization of weekend night markets has helped diversify tourism products, extend visitor stays, and create more opportunities for local people to sell their goods. Various experiential activities, folk performances, traditional cuisine, and OCOP products…have been introduced to visitors, contributing to improved incomes and livelihoods while gradually building the destination’s image.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Huu Thuy Giang emphasized that to ensure sustainable development of community-based tourism, the locality must clearly define priorities and avoid scattered, fragmented investment. Priority should be given to developing distinctive products, creating differentiation, and improving visitor experience quality. He also requested the locality to urgently review and complete spatial planning for tourism in the Thanh Toan Bridge area, and to strengthen connectivity among heritage sites to form integrated day-and-night tour routes.
In addition, priority should be given to investing in and upgrading technical infrastructure, especially transport connectivity, parking facilities, lighting systems, and environmental sanitation. Efforts should be made to promote socialization, mobilize resources to develop tourism services, homestay models, check-in points, and OCOP products. Tourism promotion and marketing should be innovated toward a more professional approach, with stronger linkages to travel agencies to attract visitors to the locality.
Following the meeting, the Vice Chairman conducted a field survey at the Thanh Toan Bridge community tourism site to assess infrastructure conditions, connectivity potential, and orientations for organizing tourism space in the coming period.
