After Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Hue City has not only recorded impressive growth figures in its tourism sector but more importantly, a new approach is gradually taking shape: development rooted in cultural identity, organized with modern thinking, and placing the community at the center.

On the afternoon of March 6, Hue Tourism College (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) held a conference on career guidance and enrollment for 2026. Attending the event were representatives of state management agencies, 51 high schools and secondary schools, as well as businesses and organizations involved in training and human resource development.

On February 13th, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee, conducted a field survey and inspection of inland waterway tourism routes to assess their current status, development potential, and prospects for investment in tourism products and services.

The “Restructuring the Tourism Sector to Meet the Requirements of Becoming a Key Economic Sector” plan, approved under Decision No. 1685/QD-TTg dated December 5th, 2018 by the Prime Minister, has established an important policy framework for the comprehensive renewal of the tourism sector. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with ministries, sectors, and localities, including Hue City, has focused on removing bottlenecks and gradually restructuring tourism products, visitor markets, and the tourism management system…

On January 19, according to the information released by the Department of Tourism, Hue City was named “Domestic Destination of 2025” as part of the HOTLIST Travellive Editor’s Pick - an annual prestigious program launched and organized by Travellive Media Group to honor outstanding brands, destinations, and individuals for their positive contributions to the development of Vietnam’s tourism industry.

On December 30, in Kim Long Ward, Hue City Project Management Board for Construction Investment and Urban Development held a conference to announce the Zoning Plan (1/2000 scale) for the Golf Course Tourism Area located in Kim Long Ward and Binh Dien Commune, Hue City.

Tourism is increasingly becoming a key economic driver for many countries. However, the challenge lies in how to develop and capitalize on tourism without exceeding nature’s carrying capacity, while also contributing to its conservation.

On the afternoon of December 17, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, in coordination with the Tourism Development Support Fund and the Department of Tourism of Hue City, organized the National Conference on Net Zero Tourism in Hue. Attending the event was Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee.

In recent days, the mindset of “Preservation for Development” and “Development grounded in Heritage” has become increasingly evident in Hue City’s strategy. Heritage is identified as one of the essential pillars for sustainable tourism development, serving as a driving force for balanced and inclusive socio-economic development.

On December 11, the Department of Tourism organized a program to survey wellness tourism products in the city to orient their exploitation, promotion, and development in the coming time.

In the coming time, the tourism sector will enhance the promotion of culinary tourism through culinary events and festivals, and create unique culinary tours to promote the advantages of local cuisine and enhance the tourism experience for visitors.
