On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, at noon on February 6th, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, led a delegation of the City Party Committee to visit, offer incense in remembrance, and extend Tet greetings to veteran revolutionaries, former city leaders, and people with meritorious service to the revolution in the area.

On the morning of February 5, a delegation from Salavan Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Comrade Daovong Phonekeo, Member of the Central Committee of Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Secretary of Salavan Provincial Party Committee, visited and extended Tet greetings to the leaders of Hue City.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 of Vietnamese people, on January 29th, a delegation from Sekong Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, paid a visit and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Hue City. The delegation was led by Comrade Bounlai Bouththi, Member of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and Secretary of Sekong Provincial Party Committee.

On January 27th, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, together with representatives of city departments and agencies, received and worked with a high-level delegation from Vientiane Capital (Laos). The delegation was led by Comrade Tha Nong Xay Khut Phay Thun, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and Head of the Investment Promotion and Economic Management Board of Vientiane Capital.

Images of President Ho Chi Minh during his revolutionary activities in China were presented at the exhibition “The Revolutionary Path - Comrade Ho Chi Minh in China”, organized by Ho Chi Minh Museum in coordination with Ho Chi Minh Museum of Hue City. The exhibition opened on the afternoon of November 26th at No. 7 Le Loi Street (Thuan Hoa Ward).

In 2005, I was fortunate to meet Dang Van Viet, a revered elder, in Hue, where he had come from Hanoi to join the 60th anniversary of the Frontline Youth School. There, I learned that he was the one who, together with a comrade, raised the red flag with the yellow star over the Phu Van Lau (Phu Van Pavilion) flagpole on August 21, 1945-when the August Revolution had yet to break out, Japanese forces were still armed, and the Nguyen dynasty still stood in the imperial capital of Hue.

On the afternoon of September 18th in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha received a delegation of revolutionary contributors from Hue City on the occasion of their visit to the capital and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

On August 28, 1945, the people gathered at the Hue stadium for a rally to welcome the Central Delegation, which proclaimed the nationwide triumph of the General Uprising and introduced the National Liberation Committee as the Provisional Revolutionary Government, led by Comrade Ho Chi Minh as President.

“Thanh Thuy New Day - Connecting the Community” 2025 marathon, organized by Thanh Thuy Ward, took place on the morning of September 2. The activity was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

The 36th Hue City traditional boat racing - 2025 kicked off on the morning of September 2 on the North bank of the Huong River, about 300 meters from Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion towards Da Vien Bridge. The event was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day (September 2), and it also served as a competitive sport for the 10th Hue City Sports Festival - 2026.

Khe Trai Tunnels - a historical revolutionary site of Tri Thien Hue Party Committee in Huong Van Ward, Huong Tra town - has recently been restored, renovated, and put to use as another significant educational spot of the revolutionary traditions for the public, especially the younger generation.
