At the end of each year, together with many medical schools across the country, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, holds the “Macchabée Festival - Gratitude to Those Who Donate Their Bodies to Science”. Held annually, the event has become a meaningful tradition for medical and pharmacy students to express their deep gratitude and respect to the “silent teachers” - those who have chosen to dedicate their bodies to the advancement of knowledge and the preservation of life.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tien, PhD., MD., (46 years old), Director of the Cardiovascular Center and Head of the Department of Internal Cardiology at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, has officially been awarded the title of the youngest professor in the medical field in 2025. For Professor Tien, being recognized as one of the youngest professors in medicine this year is a great honor; at the same time, this carries an even greater responsibility, as this milestone reminds him to continually maintain passion and dedication across all aspects of his work.

In Vietnam, gastric and colorectal cancers are among the most common cancers. Alarmingly, most patients are diagnosed at a late stage, which leads to poor prognosis and a much lower five-year survival rate compared with cases detected early.

On May 17th, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, held a Science Café event themed: “Digital transformation and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine.”

On the afternoon of November 15, the leadership of Hue Central Hospital shared that its medical team successfully saved the life of a newborn with severe jaundice and hemolysis thanks to early diagnosis and a blood exchange transfusion procedure.

On October 7, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy held an opening ceremony for the new academic year 2024 – 2025.

This was the topic of a national internal medicine scientific conference, which was organized by Hue Central Hospital in collaboration with the Vietnam Internal Medicine Association on October 5.
