On October 21, the Luxembourg Project Management Board, in coordination with Maries Co., Ltd., organized an event to announce activities within the framework of Project VIE/039 “Initiative to enhance the capacity of women working in Bang grass (Lepironia articulata) handicraft, contributing to preserving the traditional craft and creating sustainable livelihoods in Phong Binh (now Phong Dinh Ward), Hue City”.

The stretches of forest in A Luoi not only shelter the villages, but also have now become the livelihood foundation for locals. The Emission Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA) in the North Central Region has helped people in the mountainous areas gain stable extra income, and more importantly, changed their perspective: Protecting the forest is not just a responsibility, but a right associated with their daily lives.

Climbing to the highest hilltops, and trudging under dark forest canopies, mushroom hunters always face many hidden risks, such as being stung by forest bees, bitten by snakes, fallen off motorcycles, or falling into holes..., and often have to endure sudden thunderstorms in the forest.
