As Hue undergoes a strong transformation toward a sustainable heritage - culture - tourism urban model, developing the night-time economy has become a practical necessity. The question, then, is how Hue should approach the night-time economy in a way that is both effective and civilized, while still preserving the “essence” of an Ancient Capital.

In the first two months of this year, Hue tourism attracted over 1.2 million tourist arrivals, witnessing an increase of nearly 48% year-on-year. This statistic highlights the appeal of extended holiday periods.

In celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026), the 51st anniversary of Hue’s Liberation Day, and the successful election of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, many schools across the city have organized vibrant activities, fostering a spirit of enthusiasm in learning and self-improvement among students.

Amid the rhythm of modern life, as fashion becomes increasingly diverse and is constantly changing, the traditional ao-dai continues to remain a lasting presence in the lives of women in the former imperial capital. In Hue, the graceful image of women’s association members wearing Ao-dai is not only a symbol of beauty but also a way of preserving and spreading the traditional cultural values of their homeland.

Along with nearly 76,5 million voters nationwide, close to one million voters in Hue City have just joyfully taken part in the Election Day on March 15th, 2026, achieving an outstanding result: 99,99% voter turnout in the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. Beyond the turnout figure, what stands out is the widespread joy and excitement across all regions, as well as the confidence and hope of people from all walks of life placed in a streamlined government, one with sufficient capability and strength to lead the country into a new era of prosperity, civility, and happiness. On the morning of March 20, at Phu An Secondary School, Hue City Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, organized the “Happiness for Children” communication program in response to the International Day of Happiness. The event drew the participation of representatives from various departments and agencies, local authorities, the school’s leadership board, parents, and 50 pairs of parents and students.

The synchronous investment in infrastructure across economic and industrial zones is opening a new development space for Hue, while also enhancing its capacity to attract large-scale projects, and creating a ripple effect for the growth of supporting industries, logistics services, and import-export activities.

On the morning of March 20, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in collaboration with Hue Institute for Development Studies and the project “Hue - A plastic-reduced smart city in Central Vietnam” project (TVA project), organized the “National forum on promoting solutions to reduce plastic packaging through policies and pilot initiatives at the local level”.

These are colorful kites of domestic and international kite clubs participating in Hue International Kite Festival 2023 for the first time.
