With the theme “Echoes of Books - Resonance of Heritage” a contest exploring the Hue Bookcase, jointly organized by the Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, Hue Institute for Development Studies, and the Institute of Digital Transformation and Learning Resources (Hue University), will take place from April 22 to May 25.

The 5th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2026, with the message “Books - Knowledge - Aspiration for National Development”, organized by Hue City Department of Culture and Sports, officially opened on the morning of April 21st at Hue City Library (29A Le Quy Don Street, Thuan Hoa Ward).

Mr. Van Dinh Huy, who was born in 1983, is currently working at Phu Bai Ward Police office. Even younger than Dinh Huy, Mr. Do Minh Dien, who was born in 1990, is currently an officer in the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City. What they have in common is a strong passion for books, and up to now, each of them has built his own personal book collection. They are truly the “young gentlemen” who collect books in Hue.

On the morning of June 12, Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company - FAHASA - held the grand opening ceremony for the FAHASA Song Huong Bookstore at Vincom Plaza Hue Commercial Center.

That is the topic of a workshop held on the afternoon of December 7 at 23 - 25 Le Loi Street (Hue City), featuring a talk by Nguyen Chi Ngan, a lecturer from the Division of Anthropology, Archaeology, and Tourism Culture, Faculty of History, University of Sciences, Hue University. On the morning of September 27th, FAHASA Company held the grand opening ceremony of FAHASA Hue Bookstore at Aeon Mall Hue, located at 8 Vo Nguyen Giap Street, An Dong Ward, Hue City. This is the second FAHASA bookstore in Hue and one of the largest bookstores in the FAHASA system nationwide.

This message was conveyed to readers by Hoang Thi Tho, the author, at the launch of her two books titled “Ngay mai nho Hue ve tham Hue” (“Tomorrow, when you miss Hue, then come and visit Hue”) and “Xin di tu tho au” (“Travelling from the childhood”) (Thuan Hoa Publishing House), on the morning of June 23 at the headquarters of Thua Thien Hue Journalists Association (22B Le Loi Street, Hue City).

Compared to their peers living in Hue City and the lowlands, children in the mountainous and remote Nam Dong and A Luoi districts are at a significant disadvantage in terms of access to information technology, books, and age-appropriate publications. However, thanks to the efforts of the education sector, local authorities, and schools, the reading spaces for children in these places are increasingly being supplemented with a variety of books and periodicals, helping them have more "good friends" during their breaks or extracurricular activities.

The Hue Alpha Books Fair 2024, organized by Alpha Book Joint Stock Company, has just been kicked off to serve the public on the morning of March 27th at Vincom Plaza Hue (six-way intersection in Hue City center) with a diverse range of books from various publishers, offering high discounts.
