On the morning of June 10, the Department of Tourism announced that Hue has officially been nominated in the Asia’s Leading Culture City Destination 2026 category at the World Travel Awards (WTA) for the Asia and Oceania region.

More than just a series of promotional activities showcasing one of the world’s most beautiful bays, the program “Lang Co – World Beautiful Bay 2026” reflects the local community’s aspiration to build a green, civilized, and environmentally friendly tourism destination, with local communities and indigenous values serving as the foundation for sustainable development.

As part of the Summer Festival - Hue Festival 2026, the “Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay 2026” program will be held in June with a series of special activities. This is not only an opportunity to promote and spread the value of Lang Co Bay, but also to create distinctive tourism products, thereby stimulating tourism demand.

On the morning of May 21, the People’s Committee of Chan May - Lang Co Commune held a press conference to announce a series of cultural, tourism, and sports activities taking place within the framework of the “Lang Co - World Beautiful Bay 2026” program, and to share information with the press and media agencies.

Not only honored as one of the world’s leading romantic honeymoon destinations in 2026, Hue is also increasingly becoming attractive to international visitors thanks to its safety, friendliness, and rich cultural identity. These advantages are opening up strong prospects for the Ancient Capital’s tourism sector in attracting high-value international travelers.

Two world heritage cities - York (the UK) and Kyoto (Japan) - have been implementing Net Zero tourism models that Hue can refer and adapt to its local context.
