With over 120 kilometers of coastline and a vast lagoon system bestowed by nature, Hue is home to numerous attractive seafood markets, including Phu Hau Market and Ngu My Thanh Floating Market, and Vinh Hien Market… In this issue of Hue Today Weekly, we would like to take readers to the fish market of Thuan An through a series of photos taken by Duc Quang, a reporter, offering a glimpse into the vibrant daily life of a coastal fishing community.

As part of the Lantern Festival under the theme “The Golden Light of the Dharma - Cultural Convergence, Spreading Peace”, thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, locals, and visitors joined in offering prayers before taking part in the ritual of releasing floating lanterns onto the Huong River.

On the afternoon of May 14, at Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Young Pioneer Council of Hue City organized a flower-offering ceremony, a merit-reporting ceremony to Uncle Ho, and a commendation program honoring outstanding teachers as Young Pioneer Team Leaders and exemplary children of the city in 2026.

Ung Binh Thuc Gia Thi (1877 - 1961) was “a gifted talent renowned across the country, illustrious in poetry, and highly accomplished in dramatic arts”. He was an intellectual born on March 9, 1877, in Vy Da village, into a royal family of the Nguyen Dynasty.

On April 2, Hue Association of Traditional Medicine held an incense-offering ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary of Tue Tinh, a revered master physician and Zen monk honored as the founding figure of Vietnam’s traditional medicine, at Tien Y Shrine, No. 231A Xuan 68 Street, Phu Xuan Ward.

Offering both a fresh artistic experience and a way to preserve the vibrant emotions of spring, the workshop on paintings to hang up for Tet led by young artist Tuyet Loan at An Yen Station (Phu Xuan Ward) has become a tranquil gathering place where participants immerse themselves in radiant brushstrokes.

On the morning of February 5, at the Secret Affairs Institute - Tam Toa Complex (No. 33 Tong Duy Tan Street, Phu Xuan Ward), Hue Monuments Conservation Center officially opened a thematic exhibition titled “Horses and the Long Ma in Nguyen Dynasty Royal Culture” (Long Ma: dragon-horse), offering the public a culturally rich and profound exhibition space in the early days of Lunar New Year.

On the morning of December 23, the exhibition “OMOCHA: The World of Modern Japanese Toys” was introduced to the public at AEON Mall Hue, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the evolution of Japanese toys from tradition to modernity through the lens of culture and creativity.

Nearly 5 years into implementation, the project “Promoting the Value of Ho Chi Minh Relics in Hue City to Serve Tourism Development” for the 2021-2025 period has attracted participation from nearly 10 travel agencies offering tours to the Ho Chi Minh Museum and other relic sites.
