On the morning of April 20, Hue City Institute for Development Studies, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hue City, organized a training workshop titled: “Applying Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Standards in Production and Business Operations: Sustainable Solutions to Expand Markets and Supply Chains”.

On the morning of April 17, Hue City Fisheries Association officially launched a project titled “Green Fisheries - A Circular Economic Initiative Led by Women in the Fisheries Sector in Hue City” (HUEFIS). The project aims to address the challenges related to gender inequality, environmental protection, and foster the sustainable development of the fisheries sector in Hue City’s coastal and lagoon localities.

In the context of rapid global digital transformation, the digital economy is no longer an optional trend but has become a core driver of development for countries and localities. With a structure consisting of three main pillars: the core digital economy, the platform-based digital economy, and the digital transformation of traditional industries - this model is reshaping how value is created, how resources are distributed, and how social life is organized.

Phu Bai Industrial Park is steadily asserting its role as a key growth driver of the locality, making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Phu Bai Ward in particular and the city in general. In this week’s column on Meeting, Mr. Le Ba Minh Hai, Chairman of Phu Bai Ward People’s Committee, shared insights into investment attraction strategies, along with efforts to build a favorable business environment, and orientations toward sustainable development.

For the 2026 - 2030 period, Hue has set a target of achieving an average annual GRDP growth rate of 10% or higher. To reach this goal, the city must define and plan key drivers capable of enabling rapid and sustainable development.

On April 9, Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences organized the Dynamic Female Students Festival at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School. The event was held as part of the Institute’s project on promoting sports development for girls in secondary schools.

For a long time, tourism in Hue has largely relied on cultural and heritage assets, resulting in short visitor stays, relatively low spending levels, and limited value creation. As tourism trends shift strongly toward resort-based, experiential, and sports-oriented travel, developing marine tourism, especially coastal resort tourism, is not only a new direction but also a necessity for restructuring the visitor market toward higher-spending segments.

In the coming time, the tourism sector will enhance the promotion of culinary tourism through culinary events and festivals, and create unique culinary tours to promote the advantages of local cuisine and enhance the tourism experience for visitors.
