On the afternoon of August 5th, during a courtesy meeting with a delegation from Kyoto Environmental Activities Association (KEAA) led by Honorary Professor Tatsuro Niikawa, President of KEAA., Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, reaffirmed that Hue highly values and wishes to further strengthen its friendship and cooperation with Kyoto, a city that shares many similarities with Hue in terms of history, culture, and the vision of sustainable heritage urban development.

On the afternoon of August 5th, the Office of Hue City People's Committee announced that Prime Minister Le Minh Hung had signed decisions approving the election results for the position of Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term.

On July 8, 2026, the Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee issued Decision No. 2376/QD-UBND approving the Project ‘Exploiting and Promoting the Value of the Complex of Hue Monuments to 2035’.

On the morning of August 1, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh, together with Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh, conducted an on-site inspection of construction progress at the boarding inter-level schools (primary and secondary level) in the communes of A Luoi 3 and A Luoi 4. On the afternoon of July 27th, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang chaired a meeting with Hue Tourism Association, travel agencies, and hotels across the city to discuss coordinated initiatives aimed at promoting tourism development in the coming time.

On the afternoon of July 27, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh chaired a conference to review the progress of the ‘500 Days and Nights Campaign’ to accelerate the search, recovery, and identification of fallen soldiers’ remains, along with the program to replace temporary and dilapidated houses for the biological children of resistance fighters exposed to Agent Orange/dioxin across the city.

A highlight of Hue Today Issue No. 483 is the coverage of the second extraordinary session of Hue City People's Council, held on the afternoon of July 26th. At the session, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, was elected Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.
