Ceramic mosaic inlay has long contributed to the beauty of Hue’s royal architecture. Continuing these values, young artisan Huynh Kim Nhat Minh, born in the 1990s in Phu Xuan ward of Hue City, has devoted great passion to creating new works, bringing the art of ceramic mosaic inlay closer to everyday life.

On the afternoon of August 18, the Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization of Hue City Party Committee organized a digital literacy training course for officials and civil servants working at Party Committee advisory and support agencies in 2026.

Throughout the many decades he has lived and worked both in Vietnam and abroad, Prof. Dr. Bui Duy Tam has always held a special affection for Vietnam’s traditional Ao-dai. To him, Ao-dai is not merely a beautiful garment, but one that embodies the history, identity and self-respect of a nation. On the occasion of his return to Hue and his visit to Quang Trung Primary School - where he sponsored the tailoring of five-panel Ao-dai for nearly 1.500 students, Prof. Dr. Bui Duy Tam spoke with Hue Today Weekly about his aspiration to revive Vietnam’s national dress.

After its preliminary round, the 2026 Children’s painting contest based on books, themed ‘Drawing the Future with Books’, attracted over 350 paintings submitted by students aged 6 to 15 from across Hue City. Organized by Hue City Library, the contest selected 50 works from the entries for the final round, which was held on August 14.

On the morning of August 12, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Ha Van Tuan received and held a working session with Mr. Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, Commercial Counsellor and Head of Economic Diplomacy and Trade at the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, along with representatives from Carlsberg Vietnam.

On the afternoon of August 9th, at Lieu Quan Hue Buddhist Cultural Centre, Hue Union of Literature and Arts Associations, in collaboration with Lieu Quan Hue Buddhist Cultural Centre and the family of Nguyen Phan, a late painter, opened the exhibition ‘Nguyen Phan: Echoes of Returning Home’.

On the afternoon of August 7, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang, together with representatives of departments and agencies, had a meeting and working session with a delegation of South Korean businesses led by Ms. Greene Heather, Visiting Professor and Chief Consulting Expert at Hue Central Hospital.

On August 7, in A Luoi 2 Commune, Hue Union of Science and Technology Associations, in collaboration with A Luoi 2 Commune People's Committee, held a scientific workshop titled ‘Promoting Sustainable Forestry Development towards Net Zero 2050’.

On August 3, the Board of Rectors of the University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) held a working session with a delegation from the Kyoto Environmental Activities Association (KEAA), Japan, to discuss cooperation orientations in the fields of environment and sustainable development between the two sides.

Many royal decrees, Han-Nom manuscripts, and cadastral records preserved in Hue have suffered gradual deterioration due to the impacts of time and climatic conditions. Restoration and conservation work has therefore become a means of safeguarding these valuable documents, allowing their historical values to continue to be passed down to future generations.
