From May 4 to 13, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) is coordinating with the People's Committee of Hue City, Tourism Development Support Fund, Vietnam Airlines, and partners to organize a program introducing Vietnamese tourism, traditional craft villages, and cuisine, and connecting businesses on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 in three European countries, including Italy, Switzerland, and France.

The culinary festival titled “Vietnamese Noodle Heritage - Van Cu Noodle Village” opened on the afternoon of February 18 at Van Cu Hamlet, Nam Thanh Village. This is one of the main activities to respond to the celebration of receiving the national intangible cultural heritage recognition for the “Traditional Craft - Van Cu Noodle-Making Craft”, which is scheduled to be held on February 19.

According to old tales, Bao Vinh blacksmithing craft (Huong Vinh Ward, Xuan Phu District) has a long history, originating from Hien Luong Village (Phong Dien Town), which was renowned for its traditional blacksmithing and ironworking.

Thua Thien Hue has preserved many craft villages and handed down many unique traditional crafts. With abundant cultural tourism resources and natural tourism assets, it can combine them with craft and traditional village tourism. This provides a foundation for the Ancient Capital to develop a tourism model that complements its strengths in cultural and heritage tourism.

In Doi village (Thuong Lo Commune, Nam Dong District), there is a special man who quietly and diligently preserves and promotes the traditional values of the Cơ Tu ethnic group. This man is Pơloong Chướch, a senior artisan who has dedicated his entire life to the craft of weaving.

The story of linking to elevate the brand name of traditional craft villages is currently being implemented by businesses and craft villages to realize the goal of expanding trade opportunities and contribute to the conservation and development of traditional crafts and crafts villages.

Of more than 350 artisans from the 69 well-known craft villages across the country participating in Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, artisan Phan Thi Thuan and her booth of the Phung Xa weaving village attracts many visitors because of her unique product: silk from lotus fibers.

After the first three days, the revenue of the participating craft villages at the Hue Traditional Craft Festival reached nearly 2 billion VND, with many establishments achieving high sales, such as Thai Vinh handicrafts, Loc Mai Hue Fig tea, and Bup Sen establishment...

On the afternoon of April 26th, Ms. Ngo Thi Ai Huong - Vice Chairman of Huong Thuy District People's Committee, announced that the Nón lá (conical hats) of Van The (from Van The village, Thuy Thanh commune) would represent Hue's conical hats at the 9th Hue Traditional Craft Festival in 2023.

Hundreds of traditional folk paintings from famous villages across Vietnam, along with renowned traditional crafts of Hue, have come together by the banks of the Perfume River.
