After the national reunification, Thanh Thuy, Phu Bai, and Huong Thuy wards (formerly Huong Thuy Town), once purely agricultural with virtually no urban infrastructure, have undergone sweeping changes, worthy of their role as the southern growth engine of centrally governed Hue City.

On the morning of September 20, Hue University held the final round of the 8th Hue University Startup and Innovation Idea Competition 2025.

A kite originating from Hue, which has been preserved for nearly 60 years in a museum in the United States, was discovered by a Vietnamese restoration expert. Through numerous accompanying documents, together with a passion for cultural roots, that expert “told the story” about how the kite was ordered in Hue Ancient Capital, then taken all the way to the U.S., and became an artistic artifact, etc…. It was truly fascinating.

On August 24, the City Military Command directed Regiment 6 to deploy 100 officers and soldiers along with vehicles to grassroots areas to help people brace for Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki). At the same time, the City Military Command directed local military forces to step up support at the grassroots level, coordinating with locals to gear up for flooding and typhoon, and minimize damage to property and loss of life.

On the afternoon of July 30, Hue City Military Command announced that it is coordinating with the Zone 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board to review procedures and clear the site to dismantle military blockhouses located on the Thuong Thanh (the Rampart Upper-surface) relic and inside Hue Imperial Citadel.

The construction of Ring Road 3 will begin in September 2025, marking a major milestone in Hue City’s urban transportation infrastructure development strategy. Far more than a conventional road project, this route is seen as a catalyst for expanding urban space, creating strategic land reserves, attracting investment, and improving quality of life for local residents.

Hue Ancient Capital is a paradise for vegetarian cuisine. On the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month, even restaurants that usually serve meat often switch entirely to vegetarian dishes. This is hardly surprising, given that Hue is one of Vietnam’s major Buddhist centers, a land steeped in spiritual traditions, where eating vegetarian food has become a beautiful cultural feature.

The recently reached trade agreement between Vietnam and the United States is being hailed by analysts as a significant milestone that helps eliminate one of the most pressing uncertainties for businesses and investors in recent times.

In 2012, I first visited Chi Linh - Hai Duong and toured Con Son pagoda. Having had the opportunity to visit and worship at many pagodas across Vietnam, Con Son pagoda left a deep impression on me from the very first glance, due to its scenery, its ancient charm, and an unexplainable sense of sacred understanding. Returning in 2025, that feeling remains as intact as the first time. I respectfully share with readers some photos of this ancient pagoda, which is over 700 years old.
