In the days leading up to the Tet holiday, as the breath of spring gently weaves through every street, Dong Ba market becomes bustling and radiant. Beyond its role as the city’s largest commercial hub, this century-old market has become a familiar destination for residents and visitors to pose for commemorative photos, capturing spring moments imbued with the distinctive character of Hue.

On January 30, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Vietnam), organized the “Media Forum on Mobilizing Community and Stakeholders to the Work of Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation” under the framework of MiB-GBF Project.

The 4th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of the city, for the 2025 - 2030 term, was held on December 26. On the afternoon of December 15, Hue City Department of Health organized a conference to transfer the commune and ward health stations, in their current condition, from the medical centers to the Commune-level People's Committees for management. This is an important step to implement the City People's Committee's decisions on consolidating the organizational model of grassroots healthcare, towards improving management efficiency and promoting the role of local authorities in primary healthcare for People.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) and the 80th anniversary of the education sector (1945–2025), Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training (DOET) of Hue City, had a conversation with Hue Today Weekly about the sector’s renewal requirements in the current period, as well as the growing role of teachers.

On the morning of November 24, Vietnam Women’s Union, in coordination with the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund and Hue City Women’s Union, organized a launching ceremony for the 2025 campaign promoting the role of families in preventing and controlling the harmful effects of tobacco, along with a training session on building “Healthy, Smoke-Free Families".

During their visits to educational institutions on the morning of November 20th in celebration of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, city leaders acknowledged the contributions of the units to the city’s education and training efforts; at the same time, hoped that schools will continue to promote their roles, innovate, improve teaching quality, and make positive contributions to Hue’s development in the new period.

A piece of good news is that in the first 9 months of 2025, Hue welcomed nearly 5 million of tourist arrivals, exceeding the 4.8 million tourist arrivals recorded in 2019. It contributed to creating a strong recovery after a period of stagnation, clearly highlighting the city’s role as the host of 2025 National Tourism Year.
