Two new publications, which are the volume 1 and the volume 2 of the book themed “Hue, the Magical Imperial City” under the project on "Establishing and developing Hue Bookcase" in 2024, are expected to be released on the occasion of the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024. The event is organized by Thua Thien Hue General Library.

Over 46,000 entries from more than 130 schools in the province were sent to participate in the preliminary round of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest over a four-year span, from 2019 to 2022.

These days, reading culture has lost its privileged status as multimedia forms increasingly dominate and occupy most of the leisure time of many people.

On the occasion of Vietnam's 2nd Book and Reading Culture Day, on the morning of April 22, the provincial People's Committee held a meeting with publishers and publishing companies to listen to feedbacks and suggestions for the development of the Hue Bookcase project.

This was what the Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023 on the afternoon of April 21 at Quoc Tu Giam.

On the occasion of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023, on the morning of April 19, Hue Monuments Conservation Center opened an exhibition of rare books and introduced the work "Ngự chế minh văn cổ khí đồ" by Emperor Minh Mang.

Since its renovation, Vong Canh Hill has become a popular rendezvous spot for Hue lovers.

In response to the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, on the morning of April 18, Hue Monuments Conservation Center opened the exhibition “Preserving the Historical Vestige – Discovering Tang Tho Lau (Archive Pavilion)”. Attending the event were Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Hue City Party Committee.

The event included many activities such as the exhibition of books and paintings themed "Hue - April sunshine", a publication design contest "life-changing books", talks, and an introduction of historical novels about the Nguyen dynasty by the writer Tran Thuy Mai. On this occasion, a number of publishers, and authors also donated books to the Provincial General Library.

Inside the Forbidden City, Thai Binh Pavilion was once used by the king for reading books and reciting poems above the quiet surface of Ngoc Dich Lake. Visitors can leisurely sit on a boat gently surfing on the lake and enjoy the pure taste of lotus tea while admiring the palaces, fortresses, and the beauty of the royal Parasol flowers.
