The year 2026, the first year of implementing Resolution 72-NQ/TW on breakthrough solutions for protecting and improving public health, marks a new turning point for healthcare in Hue City. Building on the strong foundation of Hue Central Hospital, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University; and a primary healthcare system undergoing comprehensive reform, Hue is steadily affirming its position as a center for advanced, specialized medical care, with a vision toward becoming a regional hub in Southeast Asia.

On January 6, Mr. Nguyen Anh, Chairman of Long Quang Commune People’s Committee, said that the commune police, in coordination with Nam Dong Area Forest Protection Unit, had received a rare impressed tortoise voluntarily handed over by a local resident.

On the afternoon of December 21, Hue City Department of Health organized the 2025 Child Drowning Prevention Knowledge and Skills Contest. This is a practical activity aimed at raising awareness and equipping students with water safety skills, while spreading the responsibility of families, schools, and the whole society in protecting children from the risk of drowning.

On November 28th, at the City Institute for Development Studies, Hue City Children’s Rights Protection Association organized a training session on reproductive health care skills and water safety education for its staff and members. On the evening of October 28, Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister, Standing Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defence, inspected and worked with Hue City on responding to the particularly large flood event occurring in the area.

On the morning of October 15th, at Phu Loc Commune, the Center for Social Work and Child Protection Fund under the Department of Health, in collaboration with the Zhi Shan Foundation, held the scholarship award ceremony of 2025, second phase, for underprivileged students.

In his latest speech, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, Head of Hue City Forest Protection Department informed that the City People’s Committee has just decided to establish the Bac Hai Van Landscape Protection Zone, located in Chan May - Lang Co Commune.

The stretches of forest in A Luoi not only shelter the villages, but also have now become the livelihood foundation for locals. The Emission Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA) in the North Central Region has helped people in the mountainous areas gain stable extra income, and more importantly, changed their perspective: Protecting the forest is not just a responsibility, but a right associated with their daily lives.

On October 2, a team of doctors and medical staff from Hue Odonto-Stomatology Hospital organized a Community Dentistry program at Hue City Center for Social Work and Child Protection Fund. This initiative was part of the 2025 community oral disease prevention plan implemented by the Hue City Department of Health.

Recently, many localities in Hue City have implemented many "Mural Painting" models to promote environmental protection and waste classification at source, and have initially shown effectiveness.
