The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has issued a document requesting Hue City People’s Committee to prioritize funding and assign Hue Monuments Conservation Center to continue reviewing the areas along the walls of Hue Imperial Citadel that are at high risk of blowing off.

On the morning of November 3, a working delegation from Hue City People's Committee, led by Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, conducted a field inspection at some landslide and vulnerable areas in (formerly) Nam Dong District.

Amid prolonged heavy rainfall and a high risk of landslides, on the afternoon of October 26, Phu Bai Ward evacuated dozens of households to safe locations.

In his latest speech, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, Head of Hue City Forest Protection Department informed that the City People’s Committee has just decided to establish the Bac Hai Van Landscape Protection Zone, located in Chan May - Lang Co Commune.

That is the vast green casuarina forest that the people of Thai Duong Thuong village (formerly Hai Duong Commune, now part of Thuan An Ward, Hue City) planted decades ago to shield them from the winds, stop the sand, and protect the village. Amidst the vast sky and land, the casuarina trees grow lush and strong, becoming a sturdy shield, guarding the village from waves and winds, and the harshness of the sea.

I have silently promised myself to return to A Luoi for many times, yet I have to let go of my desire due to work and the passing of age. Despite not returning yet, this special land has constantly been on my mind.

Through numerous accompanying documents, together with a passion for cultural roots, that expert “told the story” about how the kite was ordered in Hue Ancient Capital, then taken all the way to the U.S., and became an artistic artifact, etc…. It was truly fascinating.
