Thousands of locals and tourists from everywhere gathered on the foot of Ngu Phong Mountain, An Tay ward, Hue City to attend the Huyen Tran Temple Festival opened on the morning of the 9th day of Tet (January 30) at Huyen Tran Cultural Center.

After 3-year COVID-19 hiatus, the traditional spring boat race on Vuc River at Huong Thuy town started again on the morning of January 30 (9th day of the lunar month), attracting thousands of viewers to participate and cheer.

The period before Tet is always the busiest and also the most memorable time of a year.

On January 30 (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year), the traditional wrestling festival of Thu Le village (Quang Dien district) took place, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate and watch. Attending was the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho.

In the early days of the Lunar New Year of the Cat 2023, along with many traditional customs preserved and implemented by Quang Dien district, the custom of seeking and giving calligraphy is also the occasion to celebrate the beginning of new-year writing. This meaningful cultural beauty remains and is being preserved and handed down, showing the tradition of respecting studiousness and knowledge for many generations of the Vietnamese people.

With the vegetable growers, taking care and harvesting vegetables, especially the year-round-harvested ones on the rainy days and Tet days are the same. They always leave their homes from 11:00 p.m., and come back on around 2:00 a.m., on the day after with the sleepless faces and calloused hands covered in mud.

Marking the end of the Lunar New Year holiday, on the morning of the 7th day of Lunar New Year (January 28, 2023), Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a ceremony to lower the Neu pole and open the seal to greet the new year at The Mieu Temple and Trieu Mieu Temple - Imperial City.

According to Hue Monuments Conservation Center, during the three days of the Lunar New Year of the Cat in 2023, the Hue heritage site welcomed over 53,000 visitors on its free entrance policy.

The ancient “Ngọc oa ngự dụng” (a small clay pot offered to the king) is bit by bit revived and blends into the modern rhythm of life for integration and development.

After years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, young people now can travel freely to many places to celebrate the New Year with loved ones, and Hue is one of the destinations chosen by many young people from everywhere.
