Hue has identified tourism and services as its spearhead economic sector. Under the scenario for developing tourism in line with the double-digit growth target, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has set a target for Hue to welcome approximately 2.5 million international visitors in 2026, up 31.5% from 2025. This is both a target and a test of the city’s ability to turn its tourism advantages into revenue, investment opportunities, and ripple effects across other economic sectors.

Based on a survey of the market and tour bookings for the peak season for international visitors, many travel businesses said that the number of visitors to Hue has remained relatively stable. In which, European, Southeast Asian, and Northeast Asian markets continue to dominate.

By hosting the International Heritage and Music Festival - Hue Wonderverse Music Fest 2026, together with a wide range of activities, events, and festivals, Hue attracted large crowds of visitors for sightseeing and cultural experiences during the National Day Holiday.
