On the morning of November 7th, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in coordination with Hue City Party Committee's Commission for Information and Education and the city's Department of Education and Training, organized the ward and commune cluster round of the ‘I Love My Homeland's Seas and Islands’ contest for the 2026–2027 academic year at the Regional Continuing Education Centre No. 1.

Phan Vu Tuan, a painter, was born in 1994 in Son Tien Commune, Ha Tinh Province. He grew up in a midland village, surrounded by mountain ranges and immersed in the rhythms of life in a farming family. After studying at the University of Fine Arts in Hue, he decided to remain in the city beside the Huong River, where he has made his home and continued to paint. Over time, Tuan has become deeply attached to Hue, which has come to feel like a second homeland. His native Son Tien village and Hue City have become the two central subjects of his watercolour paintings.

Returning from the world of data and artificial intelligence (AI), he brings with him a different perspective on how his hometown needs to move faster, deeper, and more sustainably.

After more than a century, 21 paintings by Emperor Ham Nghi have returned to their homeland for the first time in the exhibition "Sky, Mountains, Water - Allusive Panorama", held at Kien Trung Palace, Imperial Citadel, Hue.
